Meet Jesse Cannon II:
A Dedicated Advocate
Jesse Cannon II is a proud product of Mansfield ISD—a graduate of Mansfield Summit High School who went on to become a teacher at Della Icenhower Intermediate. He’s walked the same hallways as our students, faced the same challenges as our educators, and, most importantly, knows the power of a great public education.
Now, as a parent of two children attending Mansfield ISD schools, Jesse is even more invested in the success of our district. He understands what families want for their kids: safe schools, great teachers, and opportunities that prepare them for the future.
For over a decade, Jesse has dedicated his life to helping students succeed. As an educator, administrator, and now President of the Texas Music Educators Association, he’s fought for better opportunities in the classroom, stronger support for teachers, and programs that truly make a difference for kids.
Jesse believes that when we invest in students and empower teachers, we build a stronger future for everyone. He’s running for the Mansfield ISD School Board because he knows firsthand what’s possible when schools, families, and communities work together. His vision is rooted in three core principles:

COMMUNITY
Student Outcomes First
Every student deserves the opportunity to succeed, no matter their background or zip code. Jesse is committed to closing the achievement gap and improving student success across all Mansfield ISD schools. He will advocate for targeted programs that strengthen numeracy and literacy, and overall academic achievement. Jesse also believes that education extends beyond the classroom. He will work to expand equitable access to extracurricular and co-curricular activities, giving every student the chance to explore their passions, develop leadership skills, and prepare for the future—whether that means college, career, or military service.
